Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?

Bring yourself and I will give you a list of what you need to bring to your second appointment if you want to hire me. I try to keep the first appointment simple so you can focus on my advice and making a decision. If we need to meet again so that you can make a decision, that is not a problem and I usually do not charge for that appointment, either.

IF you are one of those people who JUST HAS TO KNOW WHAT IS EXPECTED, then go to the FORMS section of this website and you can download the list of things you need to bring to your second appointment, which normally is when clients hire me.

  • Can I go to Jail for not Paying my Bills?

No, not unless you committed a crime in the creation of the debt (for example, fraud). Simply borrowing money and not being able to pay it back is not a crime. Many creditors representatives will tell you lies on the telephone and say that they will have you put in jail. Perhaps they are too ignorant to know they are wrong or that it is illegal for them even to say that. See More Bankruptcy Q&A
